Big congrats to Alex for getting on the newest Harold team at the UCB theater! She's got game like Shaq Diesel and is definitely not hard on the eyes. Get ready to hear about her for a long time cuz she ain't going anywhere. So awesome!

Another exciting piece of news is that Johanna and Adam were accepted to Charlie Todd's Tracers class at the UCB theater. They'll have four performances in January on Tuesday nights at 11:00 p.m. If the show does well then they can get a run at the theater.

Also, Cody and Jeff's Documentary show B Roll: Fact or Fiction was extended at the UCB theater through the month of November. Please come check out their show after Harold night all this month.

Ugly Stick will be back in December for two shows with Rogue Elephant. More details to come as we get closer to those show dates.

Underground show with Rogue Elephant this Friday

This Friday, Ugly Stick and Rogue Elephant are moving down the street from Under St. Mark's for one show only. We're at the famed Kraine Theater, where Robert Goulet took a dump on Sid Vicious, live on stage, in 1976. Will the complete lunatics who've been infiltrating our audiences lately be able to find us at the new (but one-time-only) locale? I am keeping my fingers crossed..

Help us fill up this big-ass theater, please.

Ugly Stick and Rogue Elephant team up

Rogue Elephant (improv group) has been hosting a show at the Under St. Marks theater with Reuben Williams (UCB house team) for the last year. We've been lucky enough to perform as the opening act three times and now we have been asked to take the number two spot. Reuben Williams is moving on to something bigger that hasn't been released to the press yet so I can't give you any further details. This means we'll be performing on a regular basis at least once a month! This is a wonderful opportunity for us to allow so many more people to come see us.

The passing of the torch will be on Friday, September 30th, at 10:30 p.m. at the Under St. Marks Theater. We'll take the third spot in this show for an unprecedented fourth time. Following this show we will head out to Grassroots Tavern to celebrate. The next Friday, October 7th, at 10:30 p.m. we will have out first show hosting the show with Rogue Elephant.

This show will always be on a Friday night and hopefully will be twice a month. There will always be free SoCo shots handed out before the show starts.

So, what is Ugly Stick up to lately? Well, we are working with a new coach. Amey G really impressed us when she substituted for Eric so when the time came to pick a new coach she was an easy choice. Her heart is really into coaching and we all feel that she will make a huge difference in our improv. We've been working with her for about a month and things are really starting to come together.

And.. starting in September we should be doing a bunch of new shows so please keep an eye out.

Ugly Stick has four great shows this week for your viewing pleasure!

Tuesday:

8:00 p.m. @ the PIT. We will be performing ~20 mins of improv. Following us will be a one-man show by Pete Aguero. See www.thepit-nyc.com for further information.

11:00 p.m. @ UCB theater. Jeffrey Marx and Cody Melton of Ugly Stick will be performing in the Documentary. See www.ucbtheater.com for further information. This show is free!

Wednesday:

9:30 p.m. @ Hot Lunch. Hot Lunch is a variety show hosted by Ugly Stick's Jeffrey Marx at Siberia Bar. Ugly Stick will be performing alongside another great improv team called America! There will also be a few other acts to keep the night hilarious. Siberia Bar is located on West 40th Street b/t 8th and 9th Ave (closer to 9th). Look for the red light over the door. This show is free!

Thursday:

10:00 p.m. @ the PIT. Ugly Stick will be opening up for an amazing musical-improv group called the Pearl Brunswick. These ladies know how to rock and are guaranteed to put on an amazing show. For further information please visit www.thepit-nyc.com.

Ugly Stick has been selected to perform in the Del Close Marathon!!
DCM will take place the weekend of July 22-24...it is a fantastic 3 days of long form improv at the UCB Theatre and several other venues (for more info go to www.delclosemarathon.com). Come check out as much of it as you can!

After a week upon the laurels, Ugly Stick lost a gallant battle to Shit Storm. We all had a blast in the two Cagematch shows (well, Cody was at a wedding for the first show, but he was most definitely with us in spirit).
